About
Dr. Akwasi Amponsah

Dr. Akwasi Amponsah, MD is a double board-certified interventional pain management specialist and Anesthesiologist currently practicing in NJ. He is the medical director and founder of The Center for Advanced Pain Management and Wellness center. A compassionate and empathetic physician, he has amassed over 10 years of clinical experience in both field of pain medicine and anesthesiology.

Dr. Amponsah earned his medical degree from the Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ, where he received the coveted Gross Anatomy teaching fellowship after his first year of medical school. He completed his residency training in anesthesiology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. He went on to complete an interventional pain medicine fellowship at then Columbia University Physicians & Surgeons-affiliated St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center in New York City.
